Introduction to Holy Family

Ein Hysgol

Holy Family School is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary school, administered jointly by the Archdiocese of Cardiff and Cardiff Council LA.

The school character, daily life and religious teaching is founded in the Catholic Faith. The school’s Roman Catholic character is central to our ethos, as summed up by our mission statement that was devised by our parents and our children:

Our school is situated in Fairwater Cardiff in a pleasant open setting, with very spacious grounds, a wooded area, health and fitness trails and sports pitches. The building is modern in its design with two separate buildings, one housing the main body of the school and the majority of the Classes, the other housing some of the Foundation Phase Classes. The school was opened in September 1966 under the trusteeship of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff. The school is maintained by the LA. The School celebrated its 50th Anniversary in September 2016.

Working together as a family, following in the footsteps of Jesus, always giving our best.”

Our school is named after the Holy Family. The feast day of the Holy Family is celebrated during the Christmas Octave; the Sunday following Christmas Day.
